The End is Near.....Bring The Rain

There is a song I heard earlier this year, Bring the Rain by Mercy Me, that simply touches a nerve inside me. The song is a praise song, as you might have guessed, but more than that it is a VERY hopeful song.

Yesterday, I was blindsided with some hard news. Although I am not ready to talk fully about that, I mention it because as I was crying myself to sleep last night, I kept hearing the words of "Bring the Rain".

"I know there'll be days when this life brings me pain, but if thats what it takes to Praise you, Jesus bring the rain." -Bring the Rain, Mercy Me

Well the rain in pouring in my life...

I have attached a link to the song, because it is just a great one for any stage of your life. A happy one, A sad one, or a complicated one....Remember to Praise, I know I am desparately trying to....

"So I Pray...Bring Me Joy, Bring Me Peace, Bring the chance to be free, Bring me everything that brings you glory." -Bring the Rain, Mercy Me

Do you think I'll get more Clothes?

Man-o-Man, was christmas ever fun! I always look forward to Christmas, but with a three year old the excitement is even more than ever. Milli asked Santa for a Sink, a Kitchen, and a Slide. Lucky girl that she is...she got two out of three, we couldn't quite figure out how to give her a sink, but she loved her Slide and Kitchen.

While we were at my Aunt and Uncle's house for their annual Christmas Eve Eve party, I was explaining to Milli that tonight isn't the only night she would be getting gifts. She had a couple more days left to receive gifts from family, friends and of course the man in the BIG RED SUIT! Although you could tell she wasn't quite understanding the entire scope of what the next few days would entail, she did understand the word present and her face immediately lit up...

"Mom, do you think I will get more clothes?" She said with more excitement than a kid in a candy store. I told her, while in disbelief that a three year old could possibly love clothes and outfits as much as a super model, "yes Mill, I am quite sure you will get more outfits." With a smile on her face, she joyous ran from the bathroom (where all of our good discussion take place) and joined her cousins in play.

Wishing each and every one of you a blessed NEW YEAR! 2010!

Eby Updates....Return!

Once a upon a time, in a foreign land far far away - called Washington, D.C., I wrote and emailed out updates to friends and family, titled "Eby Updates". These updates were aimed at keeping my kin connected to me even though they seemed so far away, as I spread my wings and started a life away from my loved ones. (P.S. I have since clipped those wings and vow to remain near my family. Its a scary world out there....) I use to love writing the updates because I could weave my odd sense of humor into a fun story to share about my life while living in our Nation's Capital.

7 years later.....WOW! I'M BACK!!!!

Thanks to social media I have a much easier way to share stories and tales of my life today. My hope is that this will reach the friends that I generally only connect with via facebook and text messages. I miss you all very much and although we may not talk to or see each other often, you still mean the world to me.

Okay enough of the sappy stuff (which let's be honest, isn't me)...let me update you the old fashion Eby-Way!

Many of you may be asking...Why the title? Well I toyed with many names...Poker to Politics....Eby Updates, the sequel.....etc, before landing on "Bringing up Milli". The decission was finally made, because she has changed me and my life forever. Kids change your lives, it is a fact, but she has brought a purpose to me that I never expected. Matthew (my non-husband) gave me a great gift by bringing Milli into our home. (Shhh, don't tell him I consider her a gift from him...he still owes me one for my birthday this year and I don't want him trying to claim her.) Milli has been living with us full time for a year and a half. She makes us smile daily with her smile, funny (some might say sassy) personality, and overall curiosity. Seeing life through a child's eye makes the simpliest things seem amazing.

I am so excited to start this new blogging adventure. Stay tuned....
